Les Bakke To Teach Family History Class

Join Kringen member Les Bakke at 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm on June 15, 2021, as he presents Basic Introduction to Family History – an introduction to doing family history research.

This will be a beginner’s class and will include how to get started, where to find family history information, and how to keep track of all you find. The presentation will be held in the Sons of Norway ballroom and will be available via Zoom. For the in person presentation, just show up in the ballroom.

Bakke is an amateur genealogist and has been his family record keeper since the early 1980s. His Norwegian family tree goes back to the early eleventh century. You must preregister for the Zoom option by contacting the Sons of Norway office at 701.232.9222. The Zoom link will be sent to you via email. A ‘test session’ will be held prior to June 15 for those unfamiliar with Zoom.

Les will also be offering family research help at the Sons of Norway each Tuesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm starting on June 8, 2021. Come for lunch and do a little research at the same time. Using a computer, he will be able to search records from the web including Ancestry.com, MyHeritage.com and FamilySearch (the free LDS site).
