A Kringen Klub For The Future

From the Klub President

by John Jorgensen

At the Sons of Norway District IV Convention in Fargo, I had the opportunity to speak with members of other lodges from our district, many of whom are struggling to maintain their organizations. Seeing our beautiful facility and knowing our lodge is growing gave them hope that they can also turn the corner.

In 2021, Kringen completed a successful capital fundraising campaign, thanks to the hard work and generosity of many members. That campaign funds helped breathe new life into a club that has weathered the decline and rebirth of downtown Fargo and gave us the financial resources to invest in our facility and continue to serve our members and our community.

Now, it’s up to the corporate board to implement the upgrades and changes that our capital campaign funded. We’ve already wholly modernized our kitchen and replaced the roof, and soon we’ll install a new heating and cooling system! More minor changes are happening as well: there are beautiful new tabletops in the Troll Lounge, a new Point of Sale system in the restaurant and lounge, and energy-saving measures and long-needed repairs are being completed around the club.

Change can cause apprehension and unease, and some members have expressed concerns about how we are implementing these necessary improvements. We’d like to give all of our lodge members an opportunity to bring those concerns to the corporate board and provide feedback on our plans to set the club up for the next 50 years.

Join us on July 19, at 6:30 pm, during the Lodge Meeting for a Q&A. Members of the Kringen Club corporate board will be on hand to answer your questions and concerns and give you a preview of upcoming improvements to the club facilities. We look forward to seeing you there!
